Who I Am

First and foremost Hello! and welcome to my site.

My name is Eve, lovely to meet you!

Falling in Love with Chemistry

To understand why I created this blog, let me share my story with you. Picture sixteen-year-old Eve, a sophomore in high school, stepping into her first Chemistry class. Little did I know, my life was about to change forever. As the teacher unraveled the mysteries of the subatomic world, I was captivated by the dance of molecules. It was at that moment I fell in love with the unseen world of chemistry. My passion for science ignited, and I eagerly took every science class available: biology, physics, chemistry, environmental science, and advanced placements of each.

When it was time for college, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to study Chemistry—the subject that had sparked my fascination. Receiving my acceptance letter to Western Washington University was a dream come true. I couldn't wait to pack my bags and embark on a 2,000-mile journey to the West Coast. Despite my mom's concerns about the distance, my supportive parents encouraged me to follow my path.

My journey to the West Coast

So away I went! At university, my love for science deepened even further. I pursued degrees in Chemistry and Biology and delved into academic research in a Biochemistry Lab. There, I explored the complex world of proteins, using X-ray Crystallography to develop images of novel enzymes. Although it sounds complex, I found the experience incredibly fun and fulfilling. Studying Biology and Biochemistry made me appreciate the natural world's intricate beauty, especially plants. Living in the picturesque Pacific Northwest, my soul became intertwined with nature—a bond that remains strong to this day.

The Student Becomes the Teacher

After university, I jumped headfirst into the world of plant medicine. I landed a job extracting, distilling, and isolating compounds from medicinal plants. Quickly advancing to the role of Lead Chemist, I managed a team of five and discovered a newfound passion: teaching. Helping others learn the complex process of extraction brought me immense joy. It felt like shedding light on a dark, unknown world and guiding others through it.

“The lips of Wisdom are closed,

Except to the ears of Understanding.”

— The Three Initiates, Kybalion

To be wise is to understand and to use the knowledge gained to better the world around you. Teaching feels like this to me. A way to deepen not only my knowledge but that of those around me as well.

Crafting Products to Transform Lives

It was at this company that my journey in Product Development began. I helped create and launch my first skincare line infused with powerful botanicals, igniting a spark within me. Over time, I crafted dozens of products, from cosmetics to dietary supplements, working with clients to bring their product dreams to life. This experience inspired me to share my knowledge with the world, leading to the birth of this blog…

Elemental Planet was Born: Becoming an Herbalist

Initially, my blog had no clear purpose, but everything fell into place when I joined a traditional medicine manufacturer. My days consisted of taste testing herbal remedies known as oxymels and I dove head first into Herbalism. My intimate knowledge of honey and herbs transformed my life in unimaginable ways. As my passion for Herbalism grew, I began writing fervently, feeling compelled to share my insights. The blog seemed to write itself, flowing from my soul. I have always wanted to bring the knowledge of chemistry to the public in a way that would truly have an impact and I had finally found that path through Herbalism.

However, life has a way of closing chapters unexpectedly. I left that company for a higher-paying job, but the spark it ignited in me will never fade.

Learning How to Run a Business

In my new position, I started managing a small team making herbal extracts in a 500-square-foot room, which quickly became a comprehensive learning experience. With the support of an amazing sales team, I gained invaluable experience in supply chain management, ensuring we sourced high-quality raw materials while keeping costs in check. I learned the intricacies of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, essential for scaling our operations. Collaborating closely with the sales team, I developed effective marketing strategies to build brand awareness and foster client relationships.

As our team grew, I oversaw the design and construction of a 16,000-square-foot lab. This taught me the nuances of project planning and compliance. I focused on building a positive company culture, implementing training programs, and ensuring product quality. By the end of the year, I had significantly scaled the company, becoming a well-rounded business leader with a deep appreciation for every aspect of running a successful enterprise.

The Turning of the Tides

I learned so much in the past couple years, but as the company grew rapidly the focus seemed to shift from making quality plant medicine to chasing a dollar. I knew I had to leave. And in October of 2024 the owners sat me down and made that decision for me. They knew I was destined for more and so did I. I took my leave and began a new journey, one I had been building for nearly five years already, this blog!!!

If you had told me four years ago that this would be my sole job, I wouldn't have believed you. Sharing the knowledge I have gained over the last decade is truly what I am meant to do. So I hope that you join me on this journey. I hope that you too find a spark of inspiration. And who knows maybe your whole life will transform as well…

~with love, Eve
